DON'T ASK WAI

The other day when I posted the pic of Geoffrey from Toys 'R Us with his hands in the wai gesture and commented about how I wanted to find other American advertising characters in the same pose, I had no idea that I would find the first on my list so soon.

The strange thing about this is that I found the Michelin Man in front of a Good Year service center. But as I've come to learn over the past six weeks, things are a certain way here in Bangkok and some things are not worth questioning.

When using the wai greeting one should always smile and say hello (in Thai of course). Men say "sawat-dii-khrap" and the ladies say "sawat-dii-kha." I had to explain all this to make this post slightly educational
